Crew Love: Cormega

Havoc and Prodigy made sure we knew back in 2001 on DJ Clue's classic mixtape The Professional 2 that Mobb Deep was the "Best in Queens." Today, another one of the borough's hip-hop heroes is proving that sentiment to be true by dropping some new music on us during a time when we all could really use it. In short, welcome back Cormega!

Mega has been part of the PRIVILEGE/Lafayette fam for a minute now, making this week's choice for the latest edition of "Crew Love" a no-brainer. From the limited edition T-shirt collab released last year (seen above) to a handful of in-store events like his Ewing SPORT LITE launch a few months ago, Cormega has truly become a real friend of the brand. This version of the MEGA EP is more like a deluxe edition, replacing the closing instrumentals with a Sheek Louch collab ("City of God") in addition to a closing track titled "Fast Livin." With Sheek representing for The LOX and the standout Havoc collab "Live Your Best Life" also making the cut, the end result is a quick '90s rap icons reunion that's much appreciated. The deluxe 12" edition makes for a real collectible, arriving on ultra clear vinyl and featuring a dope splatter design in aqua blue.

Stream the MEGA EP by Cormega right now on all music platforms. The deluxe vinyl version is available over on his Bandcamp website. Preview the project below, in addition to checking out a few other "best of" highlights:
