Hip-hop is recognized to most as a hierarchy system, with the biggest names in the game residing at the top of the triangle. However, those on the underground are far from being on the bottom — they exist outside of the system altogether. That's why for the next throwback edition of "Crew Love," we took a minute to pay respects to the "Brownsville Jesus" of rap himself, Maffew Ragazino.
Ragazino has been one of the most respected emcees to come out of Brooklyn since he made his debut back in 2010 with Where I'm From: The Experience, which features the standout "Battle Of Metropolis" alongside our guy DJ Clark Kent, and it doesn't hurt at all that he's rocked with the brand for well over a decade now. Whether it was modeling our AW11 lookbook (seen below) or dropping some bars for our 7th Anniversary mixtape hosted by the aforementioned mixmaster, it was never an issue for the homie to pull up on us and show the brand major support. Although this guy can be a bit apprehensive about dropping new music, it's always a good occasion when he does — that Rod Strickland EP he released back in March was fire!
Take a look at Maffew Ragazino showing love for Lafayette & PRIVILEGE over the years below, in addition to a classic clip and his latest EP as well:
