Every week we profile some of your favorite emcees that just so happen to show mad love on the regular to both Lafayette & PRIVILEGE. However, none know how to "rock" our gear quite as well as the homie Rokamouth.
Following some of the great records he helped put together while working alsongside Pro Era, Rok now reps for 47 Records and has expanded his brand beyond music to also include fashion, art and even acts of activism over on his official website. He's a mainstay in the shop on Essex either chopping it up or shopping it up — peep his "Andre 3000" photo tee from our recent collab with famed photographer Johnny Nunez in the flick above — so it was no surprise to run into the homie as he was picking up even more new pieces in-store this weekend. It was only right that we asked him what exactly is it about the brand that makes it one of his go-to labels outside of his own merch.
Here's what Rokamouth had to say about his love for PRIVILEGE, in his own words:
"There's really a family love type of vibe in the shop. The Japan-to-New-York connection — I love it. I just bought those purple nylon shorts and been rocking them all summer. I was fiending for those!"
By the way, those SS20 Equipment Logo Nylon swim trunks he mentioned are definitely still available online and in-store. Take a look at some of Rokamouth's best PRIVILEGE and Lafayette looks, and take a listen to his collaborative EP Don't Talk To Me with former Crew Love honoree Dirty Sanchez below:
